it was done all in ink, then I played with some of the colors on the computer after scanning it in (like i tried to make the white lines more UMPH, so i went over some of them in ps).

Okay, this is seriously so, so cool. I desperately want this on a t-shirt! I love the heat of the colors, and the straight lines of the sun and the buildings against the curves of the fish and the fire. I adore the style. And I love the idea! Fire-breathing goldfish! Excellent picture, really.

so you used colored ink? like acrylic ink? or was it just black and white?

this specific one was black and white mostly, with red ink (like the sun and the fish), then the other colors added digitally. Depending on what I'm doing, I do use colored acrlyic or colored india ink too for entire pieces.
